General Description:

The Receptionist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service on the phone and in person to facility visitors, volunteers, residents, and staff; and performing general administrative support services for the daily operations of the weekend staff.


Essential Functions:

  • Greet visitors, answer and direct telephone calls in a positive, pleasant and professional manner
  • Provide tours for prospective clients
  • Type correspondence and other materials deemed appropriate by staff, as well as perform other administrative and clerical duties such as copying
  • Assist in planning and implementing special weekend events, and act as volunteer liaison in the absence of the Director of volunteers, Spiritual Director and Activities Coordinator
  • Maintain effective communication with the weekend staff and supervisors, visitors, volunteers, residents and weekday receptionist as well as supervisor.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
  • Attend mandatory training as required
  • Possible overtime or different shifts such as weeknight or weekday may be required






Additional Functions:

  • Peform other duties as assigned. 


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One or more years of experience providing excellent customer service preferably in an office environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional telephone, clerical and customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; interacting effectively with all staff, residents and visitors in a positive, professional manner.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organization and follow-through skills.
  • Positive attitude and approach to daily tasks, co-workers, and comfortable with change and improvements.
  • Able to work independently with little direction, a self-starter who takes initiative.
