Overview

Upbring Development seeks an Agency Advancement Coordinator II who will contribute to, support, and execute the Mission of Upbring to break the cycle of child abuse. This will be accomplished by providing and supporting the development team with strategic and tactical coordination of all philanthropic initiatives. The incumbent will be well versed in supporting, embedding and sustaining database administration using cutting edge CRM systems to include Raiser’s Edge. The preferred candidate will execute the Vision of Upbring by acting as a bridge between all functions of the agency advancement team with our donors, events and internal shared service partners.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Support fundraising work of the Chief External Relations Officer, Vice President for Development Operations, Director of Special Events and all Philanthropic Advisors
  • Engage in qualification, strategy, relationship building and closing of charitable gifts through high-level application of technology and database systems
  • Maintain current strategies and records in Raiser’s Edge and associated databases and support fundraising efforts and initiatives by running reports and queries, pulling lists, updating and creating fields and importing & exporting data; compile reports and prepare summary report information
  • Process, reconcile and transmit donations on a daily basis with accuracy and in a timely manner
  • Participate in proposal preparation, strategy development and stewardship as required for donors in the portfolio
  • Assists with the cultivation of relationships and maintaining ongoing contact with targeted individuals through face-to-face visits, phone, email and written correspondence
  • Strategize, develop and present case statements, proposals and agreements for individual gifts, endowments and planned giving opportunities in support of Upbring’s philanthropic initiatives
  • Liaison and collaboration Upbring areas of service and other departments
  • Manage registration both pre- and on site with both employees and volunteers for fundraising events and lead in the strategic implementation of data gathered in support of philanthropic initiatives
  • Assist with project and event planning and implementation of special events which includes, but is not limited to, organizing committees, committee meetings, event logistics, marketing and promotions

  • Assist with project and event planning and implementation of special events including, but is not limited to, organizing committees, committee meetings, event logistics, marketing and promotions
  • Draft and edit personalized acknowledgment letters; assist with the maintenance of mailing lists and donor reports
  • Some in-state travel may be required along with some evening and weekend work
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of direct fundraising or related experience
  • Raiser’s Edge Professional certification (bCRE-Pro) and or other CRM experience at the Database Administrator level highly favorable
  • Three years of proven, extensive experience/exposure in administration of CRM products
  • Three years of exposure to bridging system connections between development, marketing, and technology. Thorough understanding of back-end processes and realization of system quality, performance and compliance
  • Two years of direct fundraising or related experience to include researching prospective donors, creating a strong fundraising message, maintain records and confidentiality of donor information
  • Experience in planning, executing and evaluating the success of fundraising events
  • Proven skills in written and verbal communication, especially interpersonal skills
  • Integrity, professionalism and collegiality
  • Success in working on a team and interdisciplinarity
  • Personal and professional confidence, accompanied by a sense of humor and empathy toward others
  • Self-motivated and proven ability to work as a member of a high-performance team
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Track record of success in cultivating and soliciting major gift donors, while ensuring all applicable compliance guidelines are maintained at the local and federal level
  • Two years of experience supporting senior administrators and fellow gift officers
  • Experience using the moves management prospect system
  • Experience in major gift fundraising in a faith-based setting
  • Familiarity with project based fundraising
  • Extensive knowledge of endowments and planned giving opportunities
  • Experience in supporting grant writing efforts with database informatics and statistics

Working Relationships:

 

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with management, internal and external customers and donors
  • Work closely with the Director of Special Events to ensure operations are effectively and efficiently supporting and meeting department and organizational goals and objectives
  • Work as a team player and exhibit professional behavior and a positive attitude with both internal and external clients that reflects positively on the Agency and is consistent with Agency policies and practices. Network and represent the Agency in a professional manner at all times
  • Serve as a leader among peers in overseeing internal operations of the Agency Advancement office

 

 

Career Progression:Develop 

 

This position is eligible to move into the Director of Prospect Analysis or Director of Special Events if the position is available, minimum qualifications are met, promotion and transfer eligibility requirements are met, and the employee is not on a Performance Improvement Plan
