  • Overview

    The Finance Analyst provides support to the finance team with strategic and tactical coordination of financial initiatives. The Finance Analyst will analyze activity and coding to look for outliers and items to be addressed during the monthly cycle to provide support to the Finance team.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties  

    • Work with Controller to establish a cycle for reconciliations
    • Use accounting systems to reconcile key accounts monthly and rotate other accounts on a determined cycle
    • Engage in detailed review of Finance team reports for accuracy in financial reporting
    • Back up Accounts Receivable and complete any billings or collection letters needed
    • Maintain current strategies and records in Financial Edge, running reports and queries, pulling lists, importing & exporting data; compile reports and prepare summary report information of any concerns to the Controller
    • Process, reconcile and transmit information between the systems as needed
    • Other duties and projects as assigned to support work of Finance team

    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with management, internal and external customers and donors
    • Work closely with the Finance leadership to ensure operations are effectively and efficiently supporting and meeting department and organizational goals and objectives
    • Work as a team player and exhibit professional behavior and a positive attitude with both internal and external clients that reflects positively on the Agency and is consistent with Agency policies and practices.
    • Network and represent the Agency in a professional manner at all times
    • Have a positive attitude and communicate schedule and expectations weekly
    • Collaborate with all finance staff to maintain positive relationships

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field; equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate with a minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalent
    • 6 years of accounting experience
    • Experience in supporting internal teams with a customer service approach
    • Proven skills in written and verbal communication, especially interpersonal skills
    • Integrity, professionalism and dedicated work ethic
    • Success in working on a team
    • Personal and professional confidence, accompanied by a sense of humor and empathy toward others
    • Self-motivated and proven ability to work as a member of a high-performance team

     

    Physical Demands & Work Conditions

    • This position requires sitting and looking and using a computer for long periods of time
    • Lift, push, pull, move up to 10 lbs.
