What You'll Do

The Stewardship and Gift Processing Specialist is a key member of Upbring’s Community Engagement Team and is responsible for executing donor stewardship activities. Works independently as well as closely with colleagues across the organization to ensure the impact of giving is consistently and clearly communicated to Upbring’s generous donor community. Responsible for accuracy, efficiency, and retrieval of donor records in Upbring’s CRM database, Raiser’s Edge. Provides administrative and logistical support to the Community Engagement Team.

Responsibilities

  • Enter new or updated constituent, gift, event, stewardship, and grant award information into Upbring’s CRM database, Raiser’s Edge, to ensure accuracy of donor/corporation/foundation profiles and accounting
  • Process donations accurately within 48 hours of receipt in adherence to Upbring’s stewardship standards
  • Works closely with the Community Engagement and Finance departments to reconcile and transmit donations daily with accuracy and in a timely manner, process and code invoices, and assist in monthly credit card reconciliation and reporting
  • Produce and deliver timely donor acknowledgement letters
  • Performs data cleanup to maximize data health
  • Produce data exports for direct mail solicitations, event invitations and stewardship initiatives
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Community Engagement Team; including dissemination of phone calls, emails, volunteers, and tasks to appropriate CE team members
  • Serve as primary donor point-of-contact for Community Engagement at corporate office for external donors and constituents
  • Support the coordination of internal special events, fundraising events and stewardship programs for donors and other affinity groups; may include in-state travel 2-3 per year
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year experience working in an office environment that requires problem solving, attention to detail, and management of multiple priorities to meet deadlines
  • 1 year working in data entry of key information for operations
  • Must be able to travel occasionally as needed and work evening or weekend events
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Self-starter, high degree of professional drive and enjoy working with a collaborative team
  • Strong grammar, writing, editorial, and research skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills with Adobe Acrobat and proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field such as nonprofit management
  • Two (2) years of experience in fundraising, or another field working directly with Raiser’s Edge
  • Two years of experience supporting senior administrators and gift officers

Travel

  • This position may be required to travel up to 2 – 3 times per year to events

Physical Demands & Work Conditions

  • This position requires sitting and looking and using a computer for long periods of time
  • Position works in a child facility and has constant exposure to children
  • Position requires frequent standing, walking and time in units/cottages which are areas where children reside
  • Lift, push, pull, move up to 25 lbs.
