We help children grow into adults who have received love and kindness, instead of only violence and chaos.   What You'll Do The Trainer and Home Development Coordinator facilitates a comprehensive training program for newly hired personnel, including program leadership, in accordance with the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and agency policies and procedures and federal and state standards and requirements.  The Trainer and Home Development Coordinator will assist the Home Development Specialist (HDS) with developing, implementing, and supporting a comprehensive recruitment and retention strategy and program to recruit new foster families for Unaccompanied Children (UC) in accordance with agency standards, licensing, and funding requirements.   All Upbring Children's Shelters employees must comply with ORR's vaccination mandate.  All staff must be able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with unaccompanied children (UC). In accordance with Agency policies and procedures, licensing standards, Federal, State, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and local regulatory agencies. In 2021 we served 1,176 children, verified 140 new families, and connected 113 children with loving adoptive families. These courageous young women are between the ages of 11-17, and they begin to grow and heal through in-depth clinical therapy, personal development activities and spiritual care in a safe setting.   Girls stay an average of six to eight months and begin to feel a restored sense of hope in their futures – thanks to the support of New Life’s staff and therapists specializing in Trauma-Informed Care. Often during the healing process, girls discover special interests and talents and begin to live a healthy lifestyle. Education Coaches provide coaching, reflection, training, and technical assistance to Head Start classroom teachers and teacher assistants.
